Poikilo Blade (PKB) was founded in 2021 by Andy and Vince Wang, two lifelong knife enthusiasts who met through a shared love of balisongs. The name comes from the Greek word poikilos, meaning varied or diverse, reflecting the brand's approach: bold, often futuristic designs that push geometry and mechanism further than most production knife makers attempt. Rather than defaulting to safe, proven formulas, PKB treats each release as a chance to experiment with new materials and construction. Most models feature Bohler M398 powder steel, a top-tier steel in the knife industry, paired with aerospace-grade titanium and other premium handle materials. The brand has earned multiple industry awards, including Best Folder and Best in Show honors at Blade Show events, and maintains an active relationship with the knife community that shapes ongoing design decisions.
