This is the Seizo Imai version of the Night Slasher knife from Sylvester Stallone's 1986 movie Cobra. Made by Imia circa 1980s-1990s, it is branded Imax, his own personal brand, which he reserved for the finest knives that he made. This is incredibly sturdy and features a heavy 1/4" thick full tang construction, measuring 12" long overall with a 6" long blade, black phenolic handles and 10 stainless steel pins with skull medallion on the blade. Blade is AUS-6 or AUS-8 stainless steel. This one is very close to the 500 pcs limited edition version also made by Imai during the same time period. Seizo Imai was one Seki, Japan's finest craftsmen and most famous knifemakers of the modern era. His collaboration with Parker spanned nearly two decades. He made knives for Parker, Frost, Browning, Explorer, Compass, Condor, and many others, including his own brands Imax and Seizo Imai. His custom Loveless style knives are works of art. After his passing, several vintage old stock models were found at his warehouse. This is one of these rare finds.
